I had a talking to a few people in a chat room about music, I happened to say that I make trance music etc. This guy lashed out saying that Trance music 'isn't Real' music and that its all written on computers.

 

Alright lemme try and explain this for all you people who think this. Trance music and similar genres are created using a 'Keyboard' that is a 'Real' instrument. This 'Real' instrument is then hooked up to a 'Recording Studio' that is on the 'computer'.

 

The studios that are on the computer are no different to those you can physically use. You will find that nowadays most music is recorded on a computer, yup rock, punk, metal, ska, pop everything nowadays is recorded on a computer, its a matter of keeping up with the times.

 

Recording studios on a computer have endless advantages over a conventional one. For instance, editing tracks is a lot easier. Also on a computer you can make the studio as large as you want, the computer studio software I built is a 368 track studio, now, try and fit a 368 track studio in a room in your house you'll find it takes up a fair amount of space.

 

I can bring my studio with me anywhere I go, I can take the computer and a keyboard, or as my studio software is small I can install it on a Laptop and do music anywhere.

 

Also you'll find that even if you had a conventional studio, even they use 'Digital' technology nowadays, most of which have their own CPU's and hard disk storage, so really your using a computer also =D

i could argue that ne1 can right a rock song cuz its all distorted guitars and drums and dijoined vocals, but i know that woudn't be a fair comment (or technially tru)

 

i really dont know y ppl insist on demeaning other genres?

I agree too, just cos it isnt their choice of music doesnt mean they can say it isnt "real music" these people are either narrow minded, know fook all about makin "real music" or both and they should stick to makin pies in a pie shop!!
