Saw a post on another thread about this film.

 

Why is it so misunderstood? Its one of the greatest movies of our generation, yet it doesn't even make the top 100's that get banded around.

 

Sad that it's stereotyped about the fighting, where in reality - the fighting not only serves a massive purpose and point, it takes up a small percentage of the film.

I thought it was a fantastic film, very clever indeed, apart from the bit at the very end which was a tad odd. And they should have given it a better name to do it justice - they must've put loads of people off watching the film!

 

Not sure I agree about the "small percentage of the film" bit though; the violence was pretty intense, to the point of gratuity in a couple of places IMHO. Still one of the best new(ish) films I've seen recently.

Have you got the 2 disc DVD edition, they cut a scene where Tyler and Marla are in bed and she says something to him - well, it would have probably been even worse...they replaced it with 'god, I havent been f**ked like that since high-school'....

Two points;

 

1) the correct line is "God, I haven't been [censored] like that since grade school"

 

2) The original line was going to be "I want to have your abortion"
