na just i'm a computer person and it annoys me how windows tries to do everything for you witout the option of letting you do it.

but does it matter if it little things which just save you the effort and that you were gonna do exactly the same thing anyways?

 

to take this to the extreme, it's like complaining that macdonalds dont give you the option to slaughter the cow yourself ebfore they cook it for ya *yes i know this makes not much sense and will most likely be edited or deleted later*

na it's the way MS does those little things. Hard to explain but people that are either programmers or work with computers a lot in the technical sense will understand this.

I use Linux because my desktop is MY desktop. How I want it to be, and I am not restricted to only having what Microsoft want me to have.

 

 

At the end of the day its about the freedom to making your computer into what you want it to be. Once you have learnt about it, and how it works, it so damn refreshing to have your own computer again, like the good old days. If I dont like the way it does something, I rip it out and put something else in.

one thing that i love about unix or linux is little mod that allows you to change trace route protocol from ICMP to UDP.

Don't be scared... we may know more about computers but that doesnt necessarily make us geeky or weird..

 

Some people know a lot about car engines, some memorise song names etc.., and some like to fiddle with computers.
