the word techy seems to get used and abused alot i find. especially in the faster genres.

i've noticed that anything repatative and minimal is called techy these days and most of the stuff doesnt sound the least bit influenced by techno

i was just wondering what you would call techy hardhouse/etc and if you can think of any good examples.

if something influences you it doesnt have to sound the same. it gives you ideas to create something of your own.

yeah i dont disagree with you there, but just becuase you got the idea from one peice of music, it doesnt meen you can label it up as the same style as that

Well it seems as though no-one will ever agree on this kinda topic.

and "techy" would be a term i would attatch to a track in another genre/style that leans toward a techno sound (to me)
