After the amp that was supposed to come with my speakers had one channel gone and it had never been used, and then was lost by the richer sounds fixing people, I finally have my new amp. Brought it back from my dads today.

Its a cambridge audio Azur 640A

Plugged it in as soon as i got back and found that it changes the vlume all by itself. When i put it on too loud it brings the volume down to stop it overloading (which i nevertheless have allready done blushing.gif )

Finally i have an amp to serve my speakers justice. Awesome sound and the speaker cable i cudnt use on my old amp without removing banana plugs (pain in the arse to get back on) completes the effect.

Surprised a neighbour hasnt complained yet.

I was going to post a gag about flagellation, necrophilia and bestiality but it's just flogging a dead horse.

Just fitted it into my flightcase and it turns out to be longer than my cd deck in there so is falling off the end and i have to move all my wires bout to fit it in, and i'll need to push it in even further when i put the front onto the flightcase as the volume knob is huge and sticks out too much

Luu - it's not a music topic. it's just ramblings about sound systems. If everything you didn't understand had to go into a specialist forum.... mm, nuffin blushing.gif

I'm not about to compare volume controls with anyone though blushing.gifhuh.gif

my speakers are 3 foot tall, 1" thick cabinets, 15" bass units, 2 bass reflex tubes in rear (4" diameter), tweeter and mid range unit

My other pair of speakers that are 25+ years old are 2 1/2 foot tall, 1" thick cabinets, 12 " bass units, 1 bass reflex tube (12" by 2" at a guess), tweeter, 12" X 3" horn.

I mean over 6, some are arguable/possibly the same depending on how u look at it. Plus thats not including my monitors and their volume controls

mine are made in states and are practically industry standard over there

oh and bling is shite. Mine are designed for noise not for looks. They're just big black boxes which pump out the music, as speakers shud be

that is the E-712 and mine are the larger E-715 model but they look about the same.

Also cerwin vegas are built to last, hence why i have a pair which are 25+ yrs old.
