what was the 1st tune ever to feature the hoover?

It was by Future Sound of London under a different name (which I cant remember) called 'Visual Attack'

 

Its often credited (wrongly) to 'dominator' and 'tres chic' though :-)

for a bonus point chris, can you tell me how it became associated with hardhouse?

the 'hoover' sound is originally a preset on the Roland Alpha Juno 2 called 'What The...?'

 

So it dates back to 1986.

 

really? never thought it would date that far back. mind you - its not really a complicated sound to synthasise

 

so who desided 'hoover' was a 'better' name?

my mum was doing the hoovering once to beethovens 5th, and it sounded quite good.

 

so the first ever (live) remix, was done on a classical cover version, by my mum.

 

so basically it's Beethovens 5th (Hoover remix, by Chris R)
