I remember when Meccano was cool and (nearly) everyone had a home chemistry set and one of those home made radio things that no-one knew how to work.

meccano is still cool, as is lego (until you tread on a piece )

I remember when channel 4 started and there was no such thing as sky tv.

 

Go-bots and Transformers were "all the rage".

 

Real DJ's presented Top of the Pops (Jimmy Saville, Alan Freeman, DLT, Noel Edmunds, etc, etc)

 

I know this is a topic about childhood toys but OH THE MEMORIES.

transformers are still around ginge, my son has some.....not as cheap as back then though

I used to watch Roland Rat on TV:AM before I headed off to catch my school bus.

I know they're still around but they actually looked like the car / plane they "tranformed" into.

 

What do they change into these days? Apes, birds and other creatures.

 

 

still got OPTIMUS PRIME in tranformers he's still a red n blue artic lorry lookin thing, he's just updated.

I've still got all my original Transformers

 

I did think that the new ones were crap...but then I saw the new versions that they're releasing in Japan and they are absolutely amazing!...although at about £80 each they're not cheap...worth it though as they're very well made and huge!
