can you really put a time on how long it takes to trust someone?

 

just been talking to my mate and she was crying cus her fella had a 1 night stand, she said she trusted him fully, which i found quite shocking as they had only been together 3 weeks today

 

can you really know someone in that time?

 

iv only just started to trust my fella and its been nearly 8 months, and to be honest i dont think i will ever trust anyone (not just partners) fully (but thats because i have a suspisious mind)

 

am i alone in thinking this because she was shocked that i said in 3 weeks you cant know someone enough to trust.

 

maybe i am wrong

Im a firm believer that trust is built over a great period of time & it takes a lot to trust someone 100% & I also think it depends on how badly you have been let down in the past by people & partners too.

Yeah that ^ .

depends on what their personalities are like. some people can trust their partners fully after 2 days, some can't trust them fully ever.......

glad im not on my own, was begining to think it was me that was the problem case

After recents events think I'll find it hard to ever trust or beleive any1 totally again - blokes anyway.

I tend to trust people fairly quickly and easily, i generally so see the good/better side in people. But been told by couple of people that i'm too trusting, probably why i've been burnt by so many people in the past

Same here

I trust ppl.. but after you've been jilted really badly it's hard to completely trust someone...even if I know they are completely trustworthy.. The slightest hint of something goin wrong and i think the worst...its a bad thing to be hurt and then it gets passed on to others...

think thats where im going wrong now, all i need to do is have a bad dream or even watch a programme that involes affairs and i think its gonna happen for real, never been like it before, but for some reason this time over its all different

There are only a handful of people i trust, one of my x's ended up going off with my so called best mate (at the time) a few years back, took me ages to trust anyone again

after years of being cheated on and lied to i find it ever so hard to trust any1!!

 

i can now say these past few months i have found 4 people i can trust me life with and they know who they are!
