Blah their all that i seem to read about in the papers now adays. Lets see, their video has been banned off TOTP's,The have been accused of just being 'an act'Chart-topping Russian teens Tatu have caused a some people to get angry because their video shows them kissing in the rain behind bars, dressed in school uniforms. Some think it's too naughty and the girls go "too far". TV presenters Richard Madely and Judy Finnegan have even asked people to boycott the single. So what do you think...

Is the video too saucy? No, there are worseYes, i think they go to far with it!Who is TATu ?

I personally think that they are talented young ladies and why should their sexuality cause their CD to be Boycotted, nowt wrong with Gays, Lesbians, Bi sexuals if you as more, nor do i find them showing love in public offensive.tatu.jpg

they aren't actually lesbo-tron.

the whole thing is really just a new ploy to sell more records. had they not claimed to be lesbians in the first place, the single wouldn't have received all the free publicity it did from the papers, and would have barely scraped the top 40 outside of russia. rumour has it they actually both have b/f's.

i wouldn't mind at all if it was real but it's just another [censored] sham. first we have realityTV-pop with will young et al, then paedo-pop with the s club juniors and blazin squad and now lesbo-pop. and it all boils down to the fact that because the teenage public just really don't want to buy singles any more, the big five record co's need to find more and more gimmicks to shift their plastic discs.

let's not forget the UK has a long history of "banning" and boycotting songs, particularly on radio. it's all relative. what shocks these days will be acceptable in ten years' time. frankie goes to hollywood's "relax" was famously banned on radio 1 due to its questionable lyrics, the video for "smack my bitch up" was never shown on prime-time terrestrial TV and even something like serge gainsbourg's "je t'aime" -- something we'd consider tame (no pun intended) by today's standards -- caused at storm at the time, just because it had some bint giving sexual moans over the top of it.

however, richard and judy are heroes. not because of the t-a-t-u issue, but because they hold a significant place in the heart of this nation.

Richard and Judy loose big time I'm afraid. The only funny moment in there history was the old Ali G impressions!

TaTu have got a good song and a good video but I somehow think that there's not one original idea in there from the actual girls. Even the video I could see the point of to an extent but the 'up skirt shots'? Come on. The producer/manager admitted he came up with the idea after looking at underage websites! Well sus. rolleyes.gif

Shame people aren't questioning how controversial the music is....

Who cares if it is fake? Anyone who doesn't market themselves to their full potential is just silly, as long as the music has merit, do anything you need to get your music out there. There is a big difference between selling yourself, and selling out. Do what you need to, just stay true to your music. If you think Lesbianism will help sell your music, but that using it doesn't depreciate it's musical value, why not use it (fake or otherwise?)

(And I haven't heard the song, or video, so I can't comment on it)

creamy> you know it!!

blink> because it's pretty low using sexual orientation to sell music, just because you can't write songs that are decent enough to capture the public's imagination.
