I may or may not be bein' daft here. The answer could be simple

 

Right ... I have webspace from the ISP i use. But the question is how do i use it?

 

Ive activated the space, but what do i need to do to upload things? Is there some other program i need to download or buy or whatever? And is it all nice n simple?

get a FTP prog mate. Personally i use CuteFTP, such a sweet little prog.

 

if you want help on how to use that just ask again. But your ISP should say how to use FTP to upload data.

download ftp prog - cute is good (search google)

I downloaded an FTP from a website...just do a search for a free download. If I can do it anyone can!

 

Mine ISP is btopenworld and they have all the information about the stuff you need to type into the FTP, basically I think most will give you a step by step guide.

 

Although I need to update my site and I haven't done it since I put it up there! I'll give someone a fiver if they do it for me!

Ah yes, i know the answer to this one.

 

Firstly you have to take the yellow thing-ma-jig and plug it into the blue wats-it, but make sure it is the blue one and not the green wat-it (terrible mistake that would be). Then you have to stand on one leg and count to 40 with a mouth full of water, whilst connecting the orange connector socket to the pink fluff dice.

do you want a website? If so the most basic is just a text file, that being a txt extention not a doc. Anyway if you want a site then you want HTML as that's the easiest and you upload it to the webspace via the ftp prog.

Not too worried about a website. I was just more interested in some webspace just to keep pictures n things ya know?

 

But from what i read on the help pages it seemed i need to set up sone index page using HTML, which is beyond me really hehe. All i wanna do is upload a few pics

Create a folder on your webspace and call it for example: files

 

Then to get to your pics/files/whatever, go to www.yourwebspacename.co.uk/files/name_of_file
