After mine and Tommy's £200 spending spree on vinyl in HMV Oxford street, and my nice shiny new cyber outfit, I am skint as a Brighton based record label.

 

 

So I have had to negotiate ANOTHER overdraft extension with my bank, and am stuck with about £3.75 until Thursday. Not good.

Awww.....bollocks to it. I should stop being such a whinging student.

I wouldn't normally post about this but my funds are at an all-time low, so bad in fact I haven't got a [censored] clue when I'll next be out! Even my internet connection at home has been dis-continued which was only £15 per month ! Hard times are ahead !

Rah rah rah, I'm 20 and I don't let any of this [censored] get me down. You want something in life, you take it. Being 20 is an age where you can do stuff and not really give a [censored] about the consequences for a while (within reason of course, I'm not advocating killing someone here or something like that but you get the idea)

 

So money is a problem? Big [censored] whoop de doo. You've got the rest of your adult lives to worry about such trivial matters as Overdrafts and mortgages. Godamnit, we're all only young once and I intend to make the most out of it.

I've got less than no money - 20k in debt

I have 6p in my purse due to spending my last tenner on essentials at [censored] today:

 

£4-51 20 marlboro lights

£2-50 lunch

£99p mini eggs

30p choccy bar

40p breakfast bar

all the rest went on ribena and tea

having absolutely no money is certainly a bummer but things could be a lot worse, right?

 

in the space of 24 months i've gone from a 6-figure salary, amazing apartment, [censored]-off car, etc. to unemployed and less than penniless.

 

silver lining? having no cash gives you a different perspective on life. forces you to think about the worth of things and also about whether (material) things are really that important. sure, we have to pay rent and eat but beyond that, what's important?

 

like somebody said: "the best things in life aren't things"

 

be happy that you have health, friends, love, this moment etc.

 

not that it should be an excuse for seeking to better oneself, but appreciating what we have, not what we could have is a worthwhile exercise.
