Well, just mixed in a tune pretty good with now off beat matching. Just hope it sounds as good on tape.

 

the great thing is even when you arent at your decks you can still learn/improve by listen to your tapes and hearing more precisely where/when its going out.

 

It took me ages to realise that i was speeding a record up when i should have been slowing it down - and vice-versa - especially when it was so close.

rememeber what Uncle Tone said Maria - it took him 4 months of continuous practice to get it right - spending a few hours each night. Dont be in too much a rush otherwise you wont concentrate enough.

I know i shouldnt rush. But the more im on the decks, the more im loving it more than i was b4! And tjhe more im loving spinning these tunes, the more im imagining being behind a set of decks in a MASSIVE arena! hahaIts wikid. But when i dont mix in accuartley, i feel like a failure! But as they say, u learn as you go along. Its getting better, but not as good as i would like it to be. Soon enough it will come along.

when i 1st got decks, i thought id b able 2 mix perfectly within a couple of weeks- how wrong could i be! but it is a lengthy process, and u just hav 2 keep at it until u get there!

Patience + Practice = Talent

 

Im learning on the Patience bit

 

I find that a good hour or two's practice a night, plus my radio show, plus having the majority of messy late/early sessions round my place usually gets the practice levels up a bit.

I think i have spent at least 10 hours on them this weekend.

 

Loved everyt minute of it too.

 

With a few tips of Nick G i was enjoying the practice more and more.

There's nothing better than that exact moment when the basslines of one track gets swapped for the next one - superb.
