I hope you don't mind me contacting you this way, but I need your help.

 

As some of you are aware, I was due to trek through the Amazon this month for the National Deaf Children's Society. Due to personal circumstances I had to postpone the trip indefinitely. Many of you kindly showed me your support and the charity received a cheque for over £50 despite my having to pull out of the actual trek.

 

I would like to call upon you all again.

 

I felt extremely guilty not fulfilling my promise to the NDCS. I still wanted to give something back. So when a colleague of mine approached me and told me about Claire House I didn't hesitate to show my support.

 

Gary Barker (Nursie G) and I are doing a tandem parachute jump for Claire House on the 2nd of May. We each need to raise £500 before this date.

 

Claire House is a children's hospice located on the Wirral. They care for children 0 - 18 years with life threatening or life limiting conditions and their families from Merseyside, Cheshire, North Wales and the Isle of Man.

 

Claire house is a registered charity and relies entirely on the generousity and help of people in the region for all of its income and running costs.

They need to raise £100,000 every month to keep the doors of the hospice open.

For example:

£2,000 - will fund a nurse and their costs for one month

£350 - will fund the pharmacy and sundry expenses

£1,500 - will give 24 hour medical cover for one month

£250 - will pay the food bill for one week

£90 - will keep the vehicles on the road for one week

£25 - will fund the hydrotherapy pool for one day

 

I'm asking for your support again. Please sponsor myself or Gary and help us raise this much needed money for Claire house. Please PM me & I will give you details on how to sponsor us.

If everyone I have met or spoken with on this forum put aside the cost of 1 or 2 *ahem* asprin, & used the money saved to sponcer Gary or myself, we would easily raise the money.

 

What's a couple of quid - to Claire house it can make a HUGE difference.
