As you may be aware, my PC went tits up the other week, well it has been rescued, but with a crap graphics card. I am in the market for something new, but only about £40. I was running a GeForce2 with 32Mb. What should I be looking for now, by way of chipset, and memory in the above price range?

Tekheads is a very good place to buy computer parts from, I've bought parts to build a number of computers, they are very reliable.

Not as much worried about the site, as the tech spec I am looking for. Can find loads on e-bay etc, but not sure what I am looking for. Is the GeForce 4 better than the 3? (For some reason I have an idea that the 3 is better than the 4!!) And what about all the MX and SE suffixes. I am quite happy to buy an OEM card and d/l the drivers.

I'm running a Geforce 4 ti4600. I used to have a Geforce 3 but I didn't like the 2D quality. But if your looking for something in the range of £40 its going to limit your choices.

This is £46.74 and has 128MB of ram onboard, check the specs out below.

The card you have at the moment is good enough, unless you want to play 3D games in which case the more expensive cards will do you justice.

I may be able to get my hands on a cheap dual-head card, which will be crap for gaming, but great for my music grin.gif
