Why do people use text talk on forums?

Surely the availability of all the keys would mean that you can type words properly?

Does this mean that when doing any written work, text talk creeps in and the end result is a coded message?

Is it any quicker to do than conventional typing, or is it more trendy to do it that way?

Discuss.

I'm going to be quite sad and say that I do.

But half the time I'm on here I'm writing some article or other, so I just kind of fall into it.

i do so many texts that it just sorta comes out as i type it on my fone - how many peeps actually think about how they construct a sentence in a forum lol

I do, but being dyslexic I need to or else it looks like I've written utter gibberish (sometimes it looks like gibberish even after I thought about the sentence). I can't read most text talk messages. The messages vary between groups of people, so meanings for abbreviations are sometimes different, all of which combines to make an illegible piece of writting.
