maco: yup, I'm undothem on the dogma forums but don't really know anyone there (every1 already appears to know each other, like the close-knit inbred techno family that Dogma is ) and as for Oddcore i brought some flatmates along once when u were back at the gilded balloon and got the day wrong, so ended up listening to stuart braithwaite and his bird play some random mad rock and electro (again). twas great though! beep beep, DJ Rush in November. Yes yes.

 

claire and rainbowgurl: thanx for the welcome god this place is friendly !! mad, too.

 

sig: neds + scheeemies are great for a laff. but yes they can get really annoying if they want to be. b'ball caps and white trackies! There are some damn fine clubs going off in Edinburgh but it depends what you're into really - I'm no authority on the burgh's club scene, by a long shot, but I'd be inclined to say it's got no famous "big" clubs, most of the stuff is what most people would consider "underground", i.e. not too excessively promoted and comprising of a small group of dedicated followers - I'd say you have to really try hard to find what you're looking for! There's enuff techno and house, hardly any of what I'd say is mainstream hard house/trance, etc. Plus Ed doesn't have the right size venue to be able to hold something like Inside Out or Colours or Gods or Crasher or SS, etc. That's what the rest of the country's for (and the rail network)!

 

P.S. sig, the hip-hop gig was quite good actually! It wasn't a club night; I went to see Ugly Duckling play live who are grrrrrr8.

yeah i agree with all you said Tom, Edin is just smaller really, though by no means less good I imagine, I just need to know where to go, I think I micht try the Venue, have heard good things about it. ideally I love the trancey kinda nights, though funky house etc can be well cool.

sig, I have not been to The Venue that much (I have to confess). But there are some good nights down thar.

 

Re: the banana; stick on any hard house/fast BPM and you'll find that it dances in time. It's great!! It's almost like having one of those early 90s dancing flowers ... except on yer PC.
