Oh yeah, definitely, a lot of the insect world works on UV spectra, so if you look at plants under UV light they look a lot more interesting. There is a huge range of the light spectrum that we can't perceive, the same is true of the audio spectrum (discuss with serious audiophiles the merits of vinyl, as that has a full continuous spectrum of sound on it, whereas CD just has staggered snippets of a shortened wavelength)

In theory then, there is a possibility of creating something that is invisible or that there could be lots of other things wondering around that are beyond our comprehension because we can't percieve them?

When you say create something "invisble", glass is invisible, and yes you could create things from colors that are beyond are visual capabilities, but I would imagine that they would then just appear black, as they would be reflecting light that we cannot perceive...but this is getting out of my depth, and I am very stressed at [censored].

glass isn't invisble, it's just transparent, you can still see that it's there. if you created things out of our visual capabilities it wouldn't be black, opposite in fact it would be invisible, as we wouldn't be able to recognise or sense it.

 

If it was black then it's just eb absorbing all the light thrown at it. and i think i will stop thinking now.

 

Oh and jenny, voice fine-ish now, was back to normal but went to gig last ngiht so it a bit hoarse from all the shouting! but no need for paper and crayons!

Tonight is what is helping me get through today. I feel sorry for MattD tho, I am giving him a lift, and I am a terrible driver when I am stressed...just hope that the couple of hours I have between finishing [censored] and picking him up (the time during which I will have a shower, try on 8 different outfits, and try and find out where I am going) mellows me out a bit

I was implying that it would be black because colour is the light that is reflected, and if a garmnet is reflecting light that we cannot see, then it would appear black, as in absence of light, it would not appear as transparent, as I am assuming that it does not let through the light it does not reflect,but instead absorbs it. Something is only transparent, or translucent if it lets light pass through. A good example is a shadow which is black due to absence of light

maybe if it reflected everyhting it would be like a mirror! i dunno, am too tired and brain dead for this now!

I'm up for this. We can go interview people and ask them about higher plains of consciousness and if birds can't an ant doesn't even contemplate its own existance then surely there is still loads of stuff that exists that we don't even know about. Sure that would scare a few people out on a Saturday afternoon shopping.
