I've met loads of brilliant people on there and had loads of jokes over the years.

 

I reckon there's too many people on there nowadays that are stuck in the "you're a cùnt" mode and can't get out of it because they're too thick. Gurn used to be so funny but there's so many muppets now that ruin it.

 

No other clubbing website has a serious forum as good as gurn, you should check that out to find out what a lot of the gurners are really like and the meetups from a couple of years back were legendary.

 

Everyone's got their own groups now, grown up a bit and aren't interested in meeting people they don't know. Natural community evolution really. I'd put money on ctw ending up like that one day but without the culture of abuse that gurn has.

Urm...I beg to differ. I use to use gurn for about 2-3 years and all I ever saw was attitude. Virtually EVERY new member that joined was basiclly told to "fuck off" or had the piss taken out of them for some reason.

Gurn is full of dickheads that dont welcome new people. All they have ever done is abuse them and belittle them.

 

The only person that seemed to abuse anyone on here was Kev but he did it in an obviously jokey way.

It never used to be like that, started changing in 2002 but people were a bit more intelligent about it. It was all a backlash because everyone was being too nice to each other.

 

In the end, people follow the crowd and you end up with everyone being overly nasty to each other.

 

When I first came on ctw (Liam actually reminded me of this at the weekend), he told me to fuck off and I pmd him because I was a bit taken aback because I presumed that everyone on this site was nice to each other. It's not just a gurn phenomenon.

 

The only time you usually get told to fuck off on gurn if you are new is if you say "Hi, I'm super fluffy stomping cyber pixie, who's going 2 cum 2 tidy wknder wiv me n do loads of ket, its gunna b mad! LMFAO."

Each to their own I guess.

It's a lot easier to abuse people than it is to be funny. A lot of people on gurn feel that they have to be heard and as they're not funny the only thing they have left to dish out is abuse, unfortunately.
