''He took a step towards the edge of the rugged volcanic cliff that ran along the coastline of the small village where he had spent his childhood. As he peered over the edge and looked down towards the cold harsh sea crashing onto the rocks below, foaming and spraying water several feet into the air, visions of what had happened but months before flooded his mind. The upward rushing air took him back and he struggled to keep his balance, stepping backwards with his right foot to steady himself, not once looking away from the foot of the cliffs and the ferocious waves crashing onto them.

As he stood at the edge of the cliffs, a look of despair passed over his face, lit only by the faint moonlight in the night’s sky and the occasional passing of the nearby lighthouse beacon that shone brightly out to sea, warning passing trawlers and shipping vessels of the dangers that lied close by. His eyes were wide, staring into the darkness of the night, longing for what he missed so dearly, the person that knew him best, his best friend, and perhaps who could even be described as his sole-mate.

Tears welled up in his eyes and then slowly ran down his face as thoughts of the time spent with his friend and the things that they had done and experienced together passed through him, making him weak in the knees and making him feel sick to the stomach. He was incapable of rational thought unable to think of what he had achieved in his life, unable to see the future, unable to accept a future without her.

He drew his hands up towards his face, and gently wiped the tears from his eyes and off his cheeks. He stared, slightly squinting as the harsh salty sea air whipped across his face and into his eyes, back out towards the sea, looking long and distant, as if he was waiting for something. Waiting for something to come to him, something, or someone.

Moments later he stretched his arms out on either side of his body, touching the air that flowed around him, feeling the sharp wind that swept up the cliffs and inwards from the sea. Leaning his head backwards he looked towards the cloud covered sky, stars visible through gaps in the nights clouds seemed dull and more distant than usual. Parting his mouth he took a deep and long breath, closing his eyes, and seemingly without effort, leant forward and jumped, floating gracefully away from the edge of the cliff, still holding his arms out to his sides, sinking lower and lower down the horizon, out of sight. The waves still crashed into the rocks below, the spray still rose and the wind still bellowed up the cliff’s edge.''

O Romeo, Romeo, wherefore art thou Romeo?

Deny thy father and refuse they name,

Or if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love,

And I'll no longer be a Capulet...

'Tis but thy name that is my enemy...

What's Montague? It is not hand, nor foot,

Nor arm, nor face, nor any other part

Belonging to a man.

What's in a name? That which we call a rose

By any other word would smell as sweet.

all mine that

Very impressive Jay - are you still using that stupid Shakespear name (or whatever it is) on all the books you've been writing?
