I think what Mr Happy means is that the USB ports often go close to the Serial Bus and interchange where a lot of interference can be picked up, altering the bias on the USB cables signal and resulting in random yet detectable audible phasing, this is know to sound engineers as USB spoundoolage

what i ment to say was.......

the signal 2 noice ratio is usually better on USB, this meens that if u have the speekers turn up to max vol on USB sound cards, u'll get less hum (white noice) in the back ground than if u used a PCI sound card (a sound card that plugs into the slots inside ur computer)

however - USB is currently slower than PCI so u cant send as much data through it. this meens that USB sound cards can handle less channels than PCI sound cards, or do the same but at a lower bit rate
