i thought you had them through MSN files or Emails?

 

my Norton Antivirus thingy has just told me there was 9 attempts of virus 'trogan horse' today but it wasnt through any of the above, how else can i get virus's?

another way you can get them is through "exploits"

 

basically.

 

some nasty website tricks your windows into accepting something that windows "officially" should not accept.

 

(this is because MS windows' "armour" has a million holes in it. it's NOT impenetrable. there are thousands of holes in windows's code -- ie, parts of the windows programming code that are WRONG)

 

 

the thing you have been tricked into accepting then runs some of it's own commands -- these commands can be "find www.blah.com and download some file"

 

the nasty bit of code that has been placed on your machine could be ANYTHING - from "say hello every time windows starts" to "download Maria's donkey porn" to "infect all mp3 files"

incidentally the fixes are ALWAYS free - you should NEVER have to pay for them, since they are only small patches to fix broken windows.

blaster virus. MS Blast - NTL had it o theie servers and it infected most of their customers - did ur puter start randomly rebooting in 60 seconds?

nope, I had the patch thing, so was ok But that doesnt help me with this trojan horse does it

I got a virus i think.

 

I'm aching all over, got a blocked nose/head, sore throat.

 

I tend to contact Beechams instead of microsoft.

 

 

On a serious not though, i got the fucking Sasser virus a couple of weeks ago! :@ But i fixed it
