all Fruityloops Hard Trance and Trance tunes sound like they could be produced by the same person. That's why I dispise the software.

What a load of bollocks. Sure, a lot of people turn out formulaic pap, because the program is so easy to use.

But it's a wicked program if you learn to make use of the filter envelopes, effect routing and automation, and so on. And the program is as good as the samples you put into it - naturally, if you just use the built-in sounds, then yes you will turn out some very generic music.

Although I use Cubase SX to arrange my music, I still don't know a quicker way to make cool drum / bass loops for my tunes than with Fruityloops. I also know "industry" people who also swear by it as an "ideas pad" for starting out new tunes.

Just because you can't make good music with FL, there's no need to write it off as crap. I've heard some pretty samey crap from Reason users too...

lol, I wouldn't say anal, just honest.

But I prefer to rather comment on the engineering/production than the tune itself, because that's always down to personal preference.

Even the tunes I have heard with Fruityloops where the producer is well versed with Automation processing sounds with filters, chorus etc, etc. Still sound similar to me. For further evidence go to www.generoproject.com and listen to some of the Fruity porductions there, well produced could still be produced by the same person in my opinion. It's not that I can't make good tunes on Fruity. I was using Fruity before I got to Reason 2.5 I just thing Reason is so much more versatile with the rerouting and the automation possibilities enable you to do more in my eyes then Fruity. Which seems so basic to me now I have Reason. It's whatever your comfy with at the end of the day. But there are too many pretend Guy Mearns out there using Fruity. The finest example of a Reason tune compared to that of a Fruity I reckon Reason sounds much nicer. Someone like Jezper Sodurlund aka Rah, Airbase and Scarab compared to Guyver. No contest.
