why is it that u can put a pay as u go sim in a contract fone but u cant put a contract sim in a pay u go fone??

 

i have a contract fone but i wrecked it at the weekend but my sim still works...... now i have no fone and my sim wont work on a pay as u go fone it's pissing me off

U can get your pay and go fone unlocked so it will accept any sim. Usually costs about a tenner

where can i get that done?? i didn't realise how much i need me mobile

Most small fone shops will do it to make extra cash, just go in and ask if they can unlock your fone and explain whats happened. It happened to me about 4 months ago so thats wot i did and it worked ok for me

All phones seem to be getting blocked these days when you do what your doing.

Yup... Orange started off by locking all their phones to the Orange network pretty much from day 1 IIRC....

 

And One2One/T-Mobile did too....

 

Now there's an awful lot of PAYG phones on any network (including Voda/O2) that seem to lock their phones.

 

It's basically to try and make sure you don't buy 4 PAYG sims and just use whoevers the cheapest that particular month... But it is shitty - you buy the phone, you buy the contract - they should go fook themselves in dictating how you use it!

 

But as has already been said, it's cheap and easy to get unlocked!
