hang on there are 2 things here...

 

1) set up and maintain clear but static summary pages of general meets etc..

 

2) set up a dynamically driven event submission/tracking system

 

no. 1 is in hand, no. 2 will take some time

I think it does need to alter - maybe have something on the front page so users can look at a glance and see whats on say on a friday on such & such a date.

I also think members still need a space to discuss which events they are going to & who with.

Maybe add something to the home page that promoters etc can add their listings to & have a charge for it but leave the events suggestions on the forums for members to discuss.

James, I've got the whole pages ready but the errors need sorting out. Its squashes the text onto just half the page.

I'm not saying we scrap the event 'discussion' side - this is good. I'm just saying we need to list and control the events the promotors want to put up better and allow people to search for a genre on a day of the week etc..

 

Lots of people go straight to the forums now but as we add more and more articles i'm sure people will go back to checking the main homepage once in a while. I know i have started to myself now.
