yes, deadly avenger, breaks dj from fabriclive. but it's at the student union.

 

last time we had a guest dj on a friday at the union, it was prog house dj and Sasha protégé, James Zabiela. nobody knew who he was, and the crowd took ages to get warmed up. even then, they weren't moving to any house tunes, so the last two tunes we stuck on before he came on were... House of Pain "Jump Around" and Deee-lite "Groove Is In The Heart". hardly appropriate, i'm sure you'd agree. so then he comes on and sticks on some rather deep progressive house. bit of a mis-match really. not our fault, though. wank crowd.

 

people kept coming up to the front requesting ian van dahl. i was saying "it's a guest dj on tonight... james zabiela.. have you heard of him?" "no... can you ask him if he'll stick it on anyway?". eventually this girl climbed over the barrier at the front and got on stage and shouted at him to put Stardust on. apparently he then wrote about it in his column in a music mag as being one of the worst gigs he'd ever done.

 

i am very worried.

because tennents are sponsoring the night, and give the union money to spend on a dj, but it's not enough to get a dj that our crowd have heard of!

haha i just found out that apparently he can't smell or taste anything, due to an accident that happened years ago.
