hi folks, im having a tear my hair out moment and need some help on a mp3 matter.

 

Ok, Ive downloaded a tune that I wanted to put on my personal mp3 player but when I tried to play it, it wouldn't because it is an mpge (mpeg audio file) and not an mp3 or wma which the player supports.

 

My friend has given me a few suggestions, like trying to change the name of the file to .mp3 but it doesnt want to play and only results in it being called mp3.mpge, it doesnt actually change the file extension.

 

The other option was to download a converter. I've tried download.com and the ones I've downloaded convert wav or cd files to mp3 or wma, nothing at all that I've found that will convert mpge to mp3.

 

Does anybody know of a program that will do this.

He's right Shaun - there are proper forums for tunes. production etc posts random bollox is just that, dont just lump everythin into the one forum, it makes our job twice as hard!!

then maybe you should make it clearer where things should go, am i producing music, no, am i mixing music, no, am i recording music, no. To me, it would suggest this forum was for vinyl addicts, not for someone simply wanting to convert an mp3. why I didnt post it in here in the 1st place.

 

Makes your job harder? 'its just a messageboard', and I think you've got a big job on your hands if that's your job, but I wont say what people say about here, I wouldnt wanna offend.
