Anyone seen this on the news this morning?

Sumthing about the sun that all the Jocks will be able to witness, or has witnessed this morning.

Looked pretty interesting but Couldn't hear what the news reporter was saying as our team manager has lost the remote and can't turn thr telly up.

Anyone shed some light on this?

it was a partial annullar eclipse, ie the moon moving in front of the sun so that only the suns perimeter could be seen. (a ring of fire)

but it was cloudy so you couldn't see [censored] all

more info here. it's a good info page, in particular check out the chronology of the eclipse and what happens at each stage...

it couldn't be seen in edinburgh or glasgow, best views were had further north.

interestingly, there's a free party going on up on the north coast right now. a couple of busloads of folk made the journey up last night from edinburgh and glasgow, they set up a sound rig and were probably makin' shapes just as the eclipse happened this morning, in what i would say are pretty stunning surroundings. the scenery up there is absolutely breathtaking. pretty remote as well, check out the map.
