this will just appear to be paranoia, but i wouldn't trust an msn messenger download from anywhere else other than msn's web site.

 

you don't really know what they could have done with it - altered, disassembled, stuck in a trojan somewhere. with something as popular as messenger someone could quite easily use that to their advantage and take advantage of its popularity by releasing a version with extra-special security holes.

Basic MSN does me, cant be arsed with all the fancy [censored] espeecially when its likely it will [censored] up your PC.

Uninstall it and then reinstall the one from the msn site...
