So I go out for a cig and I hear some scrabbling and I wonder whether there is some pikey around, and then in the undergrowth next to my greenhouse I hear this laboured breathing and I can see little eyes looking out at me.

 

I've just come back inside.

Will keep you updated if I learn more, I'm going to go back outside again to see whether the thing is still there. Don't want it to run at me or give me rabies if it's big, but I've got to find out what the hell it is.

It's tempting to move closer to see what it is but it is freaky. May investigate more. Hope it is a hedgehog, that would be fine.

Latest: I threw a couple of twigs at where the breathing sound came from and the breathing stopped or went really quiet, then after a little while it got louder.
