What kinda pop ups are they?

funny for saying that but these pop-ups are getting worse and worse, im using this pop-preventer 1.0 but its still not working, my missus is wanting to go onto aol 8 cause there is a pop up add free, well go to www.download.com and type in that programme and see if it works for you.

grey boxes in middle off the screen. advertising blockers on pop ups, but gotta pay for them. getting pop ups from ppl now too

im on aol 8 samsun, but its not stopping the grey boxes. they r getting worse tho

I get them too.

 

I just use a pop killer to stop them coming up.

Have a search on google for some downloads. Search for "pop up killer" and a few will come up.

aol 8 ok, but doesnt stop the grey pop ups, but stops others

You wanna download ZONE ALARM if you havent already got it.

 

Click HERE ...then goto downloads&buy...then about half way down the page on the left side there is a "Trial Version" button written in blue. Click that and you can download it free for 30 days.

 

If it doesnt work you can turn it off at anytimes, I think it comes with full instrustions.

in windows xp:

 

1. turn on Internet Connection Firewall in windows xp.

 

2. OR go to Start->Settings->Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Services, then find Messenger and double-click on it, click Stop and change Startup type to Disabled. Click OK.

 

it is NOT, repeat NOT "msn messenger" spam, it's "messenger service" spam which is something else entirely that uses an internal part of windows which is normally used for sending messages across internal networks, etc.
