leedzlad22, just out of curiosity, why do you feel the need to tell everyone you're gay, for example in your CTW profile?

 

Just curious; I mean straight people don't write "I'm straight, I like Marmite, and I have green eyes". I suppose it just seems odd because it may give rise to the preconception that you are in some way defensive about it, or have something to prove.

I think you've missed my point. If you think it's important to tell people that you're gay then good for you. I respect your guts (because the fact is, some people do have preconceptions about gay people). But to me it's as irrelevant as saying what colour hair you have, which is why I think it's a peculiar thing to put in your profile, which in turn is why I asked you!!

I could be forgiven for thinking you started this thread hoping someone would criticise gay people, so that you could jump on them!

Gay people are just the same as everyone else except they find the same sex attractive. A lad who i used to be really good friends with was gay and all that but i must admit that i have fealt alittle uneasy in aftersential when a big sweaty gay man is obviouslly eyeing you up and comes and stands next to you. Might be abit stupid of me, cus its kinda like just a big fat sweaty straight girl eyeing you up and then comin to stand next to you, but its different because hes a guy and i dont want a man rubbing my cock! Ya know what i mean?!

my uncle is gay and altho i was never told it kinda dawned on me one day that he was. because of this i have no problem with them wot so eva. just because he was gay didnt stop him being the same person he was before i realised, and i think thats y i dont c them as any different from someone who is "straight".

 

i think a lot of men who r homephobic are because they r scared gay men will come on 2 them... but i always reply 2 sum1 who is homephobic with "do u fancy every woman u c? no? well do u think a gay man fancies every man he sees?"

 

im actually doing my sociology coursework on the effects the label "gay" has on a homosexual's life so any comments or experiances wud b greatly appreciated!
