I refuse to go to places where I have to wear shoes and trousers. If I can't get in wearing a pair of Diesels and Nike Rift then I ain't goin to it.

My teenage daughter has been kidnapped, and the people I work with may be involved in both.

I'm Federal Agent Jack Bauer and this is the longest day of my life...

Agreed. I have no problem with dress codes. Personally I quite like putting on a smart comfy shirt to go out; I resent the implication that I may be perceived as some kind of poser or beer boy.

There are a lot of people who never grow out of the adolescent "I refuse to be told what to do" mentality.

Having said that, I do prefer to wear smart trainers for a long evening of dancing, so I think there's a happy medium. shrug.gif

Agreed. I've tried that 'casual walk around the house' look and its shite and scruffy.

Tramp.

I prefer the term, man of leisure and comfort.

I prefer the term "cant be arsed."

Can someone explain the term "try-hard" please? (In the context of dress codes.)

Does it mean

1. Make a bit of an effort (smart but "normal" clothes), or

2. Outrageous fancy dress (e.g. cyber)?

Or something else?
