More found here. My brother studies spiders and is running his own website. I could swear I'm not related to him, but he's quite good at helping people get over arachnophobia (I'm no longer scared of spiders since he's educated me on them).

Ya know i hardly EVER open the window in my bedroom, even in the hot summer...if i do, it will only be open for about 10 minutes !

 

Im to petrified that a spider will be running around in my room after openind the window.

 

I am so scared of them.

I used to be like that. My Brother helped me get over my fear, I wouldn't even touch them. He got me to the point where I helped him catch a Black Widow spider when we were in Florida.

How the hell can you over come a phobia...of spiders?

 

I find it impossible being that I am scared of them that much !

Education and exposure worked for me. I'm not sure it'll work for everyone, I was a little suprised it worked on me to be honest.

Christ! The thought of seeig a spider in my head just makes me itch and feel sick. Liek right now.

 

I can imagine trying to get over my phobia of spiders would be sumthihg for ppl to laff at heh

anyway, yeh

i find thyat when i see a spider in my room, the following tactic works...

 

1) turn around

2) believe there are no spiders in room

3) do not look roughly behind you , tho don't rememebr why not

 

it works for me, and i'm not likely to get stung. if anyone can help me with my more worty wasp problem, please let me know....

If I found a spider in my room, id either kill it, or sleep downstairs if it's lurking around my room sumwhere untill sum1 else kills it.

its not a spider babe, its a crab...and i know the feeling, i go really girly wen i see one, but i believe that my brother may have bin reincarnated as one, so i never ever kill em, and i always talk to them if im on my own in my room...we make an understanding that it wont crawl on my bed, and will be gone in the morning...usually works too...(yes i am a little weird, but arent we all?)
