Anyone seen Half Life 2 yet?

 

It's been a long while since I was genuinely impressed by a first-person shooter (IMHO most games are much of a muchness) but this looks jaw-dropping. I've only seen a video demo of it, I think it comes out in September.

I enjoyed the original, but Halflife 2 does look pretty damned good. Seen a few screen caps and they look really impressive.

I love video games, i love to relax having a quick game of Pro Evo Soccor 2, can't beat it!

You need to see it in motion mate. They have an amazing physics engine, it seems years ahead of anything I've seen before. All objects interact realistically with each other - barrels roll around, dead bodies float on water, cables sway realistically, wooden structures crumble, items can be moved around using magnetism, cars realistically teeter on cliff edges and the doors/bonnet/etc all flap around...

aye seen the video clips for this a while ago. the AI in it is impressive and the i think there is like 45 muscles in the face on the characters to add more realism.

 

Can't wait for it to come out.

It does look rather fabulous, although we all know that you'll need some kind of bleeding edge super computer to get the graphics that are being banded around. It's good to see that someone is pushing to boundaries though.

Yup, looking forward to HL2, and also to Halo 2.... It's been a while since the last decent FPS...

Yep, Alex (my b/f) was on about this game a few months back saying how impressive it's going to be. He's got some video footage of the makers demonstrating it and even i (who doesn't DO gaming, darling) am impressed! VERY realistic looking. The best bits are the reflections in the water (wow!) the images of the background through what looks like a pane of glass revolving.. Facial expressions too are groundbreaking.

 

Wasn't half life 1 the best thing since sliced bread in it's time?
