I play Gabba, Hard Trance, Hard Style, Acid techno anything really!

Promoter dont come to you mate - you have to go to them!!

I built myself a Roland 303, using the original roland chips and a circuit board fom oakley sounds, produces awesome analogue baselines, but due to its analogue nature always breaks down!! 303's are still the way forward though.

for sure - nothing beats a vicious acid line running thru a track

Re: modular:

 

Its an opinion, so dont be so harsh, it depends what music you are making. We can't all afford andromeda's and viruse's, and the nice analogue sound i get out of the 303 i put together suits me fine, especially considering the price it cost to put together.

Thing is, its easier to master, so 303-based tracks usually sound [censored] awesome!! Acid Techno and Acid Trance are generally immaculatly produced due to (what I would guess, from you comment) the simplicity of equipment used.... Just because its only a simple piece of hardware doesnt mean it cant do great things - look at how simple guitars are.....yet when played well they are incredible!!!!

is there no real real value is mastering something that takes a bit more effort to do nowadays then?

 

if you want an easy to master real analogue synth, buy a waldorf pulse.. it does everything a 303 can but better (and a lot more)

Mate, im the wrong person to talk about production with.... I just know what I like, and 303's make awesome riffs for tracks!

They make predictable riffs. Then again you could say that kick drums are predictable!

 

I think 303s are old hat, but there are loads of cliched sounds that I've never tired of - bongos, bass guitars, scratching ...
