iv just done a virus check on my pc and found some wormsyea i know there not major but they get into ur emails and [censored] i sugest u go to http://www.antivirus.com and do a free online check i got 1 virus how many did u have lol

if ur pc is connected to the internet (or not) u should have a virus checker running in the background all the time, anyway.

I need one but cant be arsed to buy one.

That's illegal. Also, I don't know CTW's official stance on this, but most online forums have strict rules about publicising sources of pirated/cracked software.

 

I've got a perfectly good freeware firewall on my PC called ZoneAlarm, which I'd recommend to anyone who is connected to the internet.

I can't stop you from being a thieving pirate, but CTW could get in trouble if it appears to condone law-breaking, or provides information on how to do so.

 

There is a good reason why most websites have a strict ban on this.

agree with liquideyes here, also richard kazaa is where the main virus's r, b careful - i managed in infect several networks from kazzaa or one of its counterparts(diet kazaa or kazzaalite)

Don't wanna pay for anti-virus protection? But want to get a legitimate piece of software?

If you've got Norton, then there's no need....

 

*But* if you've got an illegal copy of Norton, I'd uninstall that and put AVG from Grisoft on.

 

I don't know what version of Norton you've got - but do you get regular updates (weekly) for it?

Then don't bother with AVG...

 

Basically, if you haven't got a legal copy, chances are you're not getting the updates... That's why you'd be better with AVG.

 

I don't judge anyone with illegal software - that's not my place to do so....

Must confess, piracy gets on my tits. It's common theft (only difference is, you don't have to peg it away from some security guards with the software stashed under your jacket).

 

It would be pretty ironic for me to condone piracy (I write software for a living - if everyone pirated it then I'd be out of a job!)
