HUGE thanks to Infopop for finding the problem - it was a tough one as there were no error messages being generated, just blank pages !

*slap slap* cool i had something like this at work, i was working on xml and no one told me that a 'cross' symbol was an escape charatcer - caused me two days worth of re doing work b4 i twigged it was in a paragraph i copied and pasted into the xml.

Exactly Alasdair - why o why ?! I spent a good day or so looking into the problem myself until I finally gave up (hate doing that!) and raised a trouble ticket with Infopop. It then took them another day or so and finally tracked it down to a particular graemlin. On removal of the graemlin everything started working fine again. I then assumed it must have been due to perhaps the number of them rather than because of a particular gif, but no I added others fine and the problem didnt come back.

 

Tracking the problem down was a complete nightmare as there were no errors in any of the various log files and nothing reported to the browser as it was completely blank. God knows how they fathomed it was a gif ! :S
