no the membership is a good idea... you get discounts on vinyl and first choice on all events...

it's the worst-value rip-off i've ever set eyes on. discounts on tidy records - why should you have to pay for this? and a membership card and sticker pack? fantastic - i can't wait until next year's pack, when the benefits will probably include a crudely-made badge reading "I LOVE TIDY" and a fridge magnet.

i've said it before and i'll say it again - it's tidy's rather disgusting ploy to cash in as much as possible from this ever-expanding bubble they're a part of while they still can. they realise, just as others do, that one day it will burst, and the more money they can make now, the better.

can i just say... and i know this for a fact...

90% of the money they make on the label goes back into the label, so this [censored] abuot tidy's ploy to make a fast £ is a load of [censored], th membership area is there for people who wanna save money on records and cd's and get first priority and/or vip treatment at events, fair enough there are a sour few who moan about everything who jump the gun and bitch about this because tidy is at tghe top, but on a whole i would say that everyone is pretty happy about the fc area, i know i am!

so i say good day to you sir!!! thefinger.gif

stomp like no ones watching, learn it, live it... keep it Tidy!

princesstidy> i'm not really going to believe any of your "facts" until i see them, am i?

10% profit isn't exactly an unhealthy margin to make, when you consider the massive turnover Tidy will have. i remember them nicely dodging the issue of how much money they have earnt when they were asked during the Tidy Boys Unplanned session at the last weekender... although the cars they drive pretty much confirm how i think it is.

fact of the matter is that Amo & Andy have built a very successful business for themselves out of this "community spirit" that HH has. well done to them, i guess - making money out of dance music isn't easy. but to be made to feel guilty just because you won't sign over four hours' hard-earned wages to them just to get a cheap plastic membership card is wrong.

£20 is poor value. even £10 would be pushing it for what you get.

and no i don't "moan and bitch because tidy is at the top", i "moan and bitch" because i think it's right to be questioning what certain people are gaining out of this scene and what they're actually giving back.

well ive had to join today to get our chalet, which is booked thank fark however im just wondering whether the whole think is hyped up by tidy ( by that i mean nearly sold out in two days and only member can get tickets for a while) in order to get people to panic and join tidy so they can make an extra score out of us.

just a thought...

What's so different about this weekender. I'm sure there wasn't all this hassle last time, & i know that none of us in our chalet were members.

Tidy weekender 3 is the only tidy event i've ever been to. And i'd like to attend the next one, but i have no intention of becoming a member. Why should i, i've never bought any of their products, merchandise, vinyl & most probably never will.

But then again i don't suppose their interested in people like me because they can't make as much money out of me.

It's all about supply and demand. I'm more than happy to pay £20 membership in order to get a VIP chalet. Tidy Weekender is a unique event, which only goes off twice a year. Tidy know that they can sell it out and you have to compliment them for not putting up the price of the tickets. I'm sure they could easily charge £150+ and still sell it out.

If you don't like it - don't go.

It's so wrong, yet it's so right.
