The "Cannon Fodder" statement is bullshit anyway, its not 1914 anymore and if your anyone but the top brass your pretty much on or near the frontline during any conflict.

BTW I'm not making any generalisations here. I knew a guy from the army who was really down to earth and had lots of interesting tales to tell.

 

I also knew he Marine once. He was like the aforementioned army dickheads, only much more arrogant.

You get dickheads in every job. Most of the Royal Marines I've met are really sound lads, same goes for the Army, Navy and RAF, but then some are tossers. Such is life.
