can ne1 help me stop smoking.

suggestions please.

i've tried lots' ov ways but just keep getting offered cigs and can't say no.

i tried to stop buying them but that didn't work.

 

it's mostly when i drink and go out to the clubs.

 

one of my bosses and a work mate has both given up in the past 2 weeks. It pretty good going by them. Really if you want to stop it's really strong will power. I'm sure you can do it! Just be really tough on yourself, and tell your mates that you're really serious about this. They should understand.

Try keeping some dog ends in a jar with abit of water!! every time you fancy one open the lid & take a deep breath!!!

its easy. you just don't put any cigarettes in your mouth. every time u smoke a cigarrete, you are just putting off those nicotine cravings by 2 hours. every 2 hours the same itch, and you scratch it to only make it come back. stop scratching yourself you itchy man.

Sorry, I gotta agree with Paul... Albeit not quite so harshly.

 

The *only* effective way I've *ever* seen anyone give up is to say "NO!" from a point in time, and that's it...

 

No cutting down slowly, no patches, no anything. Just being extremely strong willed and saying "I've stopped."

patches are quite useful to show yourself exactly why you don't need to smoke. i recommend to most people to try nicotine patches for 2 days - you no longer have the urge to smoke, and if you *do* smoke, it tastes like [censored].

 

patches will show you that your smoking habit is purely because of the nicotine, and you will realise how disgusting the taste and smell of smoke is. i've been a non smoking smoker for quite a while. i can smoke over a weekend if i want and not smoke after.

I seem to be doing quite well at the moment by just stopping completely. Last time I tried to give up I used gum and stuff, but that just keeps the nicotine in your system so you still crave it. If you just competely give up, then it gets out of your system quite fast!

oh fer fucks sake leave it out bruv !

Its really bad in clubs cos wen I sit down I need something to do so I lite up. I've tired candy sticks and lollies and they don't really help. Best thing to do is stay on the dancefloor and keep busy
