Anyone been to The End on a Saturday before? The music policy is described as tech/tribal/twisted house.

Sounds good, but I'm wondering if it toughens up through the night. I'm in the mood for something quite intense and technoey this Saturday.

Any other recommendations? Will Superfreak be up my street?

Type @ The Cross is also quite tempting but I wouldn't mind something a bit more upbeat.

well, i'm not sure if you went, but...

i've only been to Superfreak once... back when it opened a few months ago... i wasn't that blown away really (but i suppose it was the first night!?)

the nights i'm really into at The End on Saturdays are:

- Layo & Bushwacka - 1st Sat of month, and

- Underwater (Darren Emerson) - last Sat of the month

i'm not great at describing dance genres, but both are kinda techy prog house, L&B always seem to mix in different genres of dance music (bit of funky, bit of electro, where as Mr Emerson's sets seem deeper and more intense... both really get the place moving IMHO thumbs.gif

might be going to Bugged Out @ The End this Sat (am missing the place after not being there for over a month)... see the 'This Week Forum'

cheers,

andrew

Aye, I did go!

1. The music was superb. Some of the best I've heard for ages. Very diverse - a nice mash-up of house & techno and everything in between, all very stripped back and tribal.

2. The atmosphere wasn't. It's not a "happy smiley people" club by any means. We met a handful of nice people but the crowd weren't overly sociable in general.

Shame the atmosphere wasn't as good as the music. shrug.gif
