i'm pissed off @ the drugs references in the non drugs forum. i'm talking mainly about how some memebrs will bring up GB in threads which quite blatently have nowt to do with GB. i find it offensive, granted i have a big thing against GB. but it would be the same if sum1 brought up pills or another drug. i meen if i'm chatting about directions or text msgs or some other kinda convosation i dont want some1 to abruptly turn around and say "GEEEEEEEBEEEEEEE!!!!"

 

before ne1 accuses me of being hypocritical, i admit i have brought up poppers 1nce or twice in the past. but then poppers r legal and i didnt drop them into a convosation that had nowt to do with poppers. Also i have little arguement about inuendos. but lets not forget that drugs r illigal and is it wise to be lowering ourselves to such a level where we cant have a plesant convosation without talking about drugs. its gonna end up like sum eminem rap before long with all the cursing and abuse and drugs

 

It is something that has caught the eye of a few people. One thing we are also having to crack down on is people publicly saying 'I love coke and pills and going in a hole on ket - I have some right now, would you like to join me Mr Policeman'.

 

Or words to that effect.

 

At the end of the day we all know that drugs exist in our culture. People are so used to using and talking about them, that they become blasé about them.

 

Illegal drugs should only be discussed in a third-party context on these boards, othewise people will find themselves getting censored. Which is not something any of us mods like to do - it's a case of HAVING to do it.

Can you please all inform me or another mod of these posts - either PM or use the 'Notify Moderator' icon. We deffo need to put a stop to these - end of the day we could well scare off non-druggie clubbers which we DONT want to do

Mr Happy, good comments, I agree totally and as I've said before every post will be deleted when that reference is made. But as James said at times it gets busy on here and not always easy to keep tabs pn posts. Send a PM or something with the link and they will be removed ASAP.

I always notice them and always reply telling people they cant write that, will get on case and pm u if i see any more, the cream forums on their website discussed drug use in such a way a few years ago and consequently the club was raided, site was shut down and the place has never been the same again! people need to learn to stop being so fuckin BANG ON!!

If we ever put on an entire event ourselves we'll be lucky we dont suffer from the same issues.

Which is why the new rules were put up, and Fin and myself are forcing people to follow them. It's the only way... (besides, there are other websites around if you want that. Check out bluelight for excellent info and discussions, and also erowid).

If there are any mods who feel they should / could check the other forums (who they dont currently moderate) for drug references let me know

There should not be drug references made in posts that have no relevance to the subject.

I totally agree with banning gratuitous drug references. As a clubber whose life does not revolve around illicit substances, I can assure you that this kind of frivolous banter is completely offputting to people looking to meet likeminded music-lovers / clubbers.

 

Apart from trivialising an illegal pastime, it gives clubbers a bad name when seemingly they can't shut up about drugs.

 

If I was comparing two clubbing websites, I would intuitively gravitate towards the one with more chat about music and less about drugs. (Of course, serious discussion in the drugs forum is fine.)

2b fair - ctw isnt as bad as most clubbign sites i've been on. but it only takes a moment of carelessness 2 change all that

Promoters of nights, and probably even policy read these boards and are not going to be impresed it people keep saying they get [censored] at Sunnys or something! It pisses the club off, and makes mr bobby policeman think might take a little trip down there!

 

Indeed some of us, only ever make all but the most tangental references to drugs, anonymously, cos anyone could be watching, and probably are...esp. Mr Drug (We'll arrest, and charge our own grannies, if they are in possesion of a tiny amount of weed for medicinal purposes, and are target figures are looking low this month) Squad Officers.
