As I said y'day, today is the biggest marching day in the Orange Mens calendar. I went out and took a few pics......

 

 

 

 

 

And this time of year you can even tell which houses are owned by Protestants........They all have flags outside their house! (Note this is my street and mine is a house without a flag)

 

Some of those marchers look like something out of Disneyland.

 

What are all these marches about?

Its sort of like Americas independance day, but just for protestants in N.Ireland. It celebrates the day King William finally conquered N.Ireland (12th July) in 1690.

 

Its became a huge tradition over here, but unfortunately this day is also associated with violence and dissorder.

Yes but also the fact that these "buch of knobs" consume untold amounts of alcahol from about 10am.
