I've just had about 8 fly at me at once!

 

One by one, I cancelled then, then when I got to the last one - which was a porn one (with an over 18's only policy read-through thing) and I clicked on the 'X' to get rid of it, then a thingy thing came up and said 'are you sure?'

 

Erm - YES!

you could switch to the mozilla browser - you can tell it to not allow websites to create pop-ups... other browsers may offer the same feature, too.
