its really bazzare but just recently whe anyone talks to me about clubbing or am i going somewhere i get totally bored of it! i dont find any events now to be as good as they used to be when i was younger!

when i first started going out it would be me tara and a few others and i found that really fun and exciteing! now i go out once every two months if that because firstly i am always skint and secondly i have more important things to be doing!

also i feel like ive "done eveything" in a clubbing sence! ive been ibiza, ive been to most of the festivals ie. gatecrasher etc... most of the member meets and i feel like i dont need to do it any more cos ive done it all before!

am i the only person that feels like this?!

Sophie you are not alone in feeling like this!! I to feel like im getting tired of it & also have made a descion to cut other stuff out as it was getting out of control etc!!

try having a few months out then just do the odd night here & there & you may feel that you will enjoy it again!!!

What I will miss when i totally give it up is the people I have met thru clubbing & the randon make no sense convo's you have etc!! thumbs.gif

No. I am heading in that direction as well. I'm making the most of it now, and then plan to gently slip into semi-retirement. I will continue clubbing, but not the frequency that I have been doing, and hand pick a few event a year. Or even leave part way through the night.

I certainly no longer get enjoyment out of going EVERY weekend anymore. I wish I did and I'm jealous of the people who still do but its no as special to me anymore.

GG should be great because there are lots going and it would have been a few weeks since my last clubbing night.

I'm (slowly) learning the art of moderation lol (not easy for me!)

it goes in cycles. you cant say its all good or all bad, it depends on lots of variables in your life and exactly how much you have been out in the last few months. if you have a good enough break the chances are you will be desperate to go out clubbing again. the periods between these cycles get longer and longer as you get older however and the duration of the clubbing phase gets shorter. the frequency of clubbing also gets longer. basically, we all get fed up of it sooner or later and realise our money is better spent in the far east than in ibiza grin.gif I personally think we need a NEW ibiza - like in Goa ... ?

This could also be true for me.

I started raving when I was 14, going to events and illegal raves then after high schoool when everyone was clubbing an d you could walk into the club and everyone would know you. but year by year peolpe who you used to see stopped going and the atmosphere was not the same.

Im now 24 still a skint student but being skink means that you have to select the places that you go to.

I know the clubbing scene has deteriated some what but you can still find the places that do tear the house down.

sometimes I do feel like im growing out of it when people my age stop going, but I say f*ck it enjoy urself and have a good time. If you leave it for a bit and only go if to an event that u really want to then maybe the buzz will return. Another alternative is illegal raves in the summer something very different and u never know what to expect.

Ive been to loads in my time and they tend to be the best because if u expect nothing then anything else is a bonus.

Many a good night.

what was i just talking about???

My personal experience of clubbing is as follows.

I started going to clubs at the tender age of 15, which is now nearly 10 years ago, back then there were no major clubs like Crasher, Sundissential etc. They were limited to throwing these parties at Leeds University, which was packed with dickheads from the uni, we were grateful for these. This was the first time I actually heard Rob Tissera play, at an old Ark, so believe me I’ve been following him a few years.

When the first era of clubs started to open there was that distinctive, local & visitors vibe, you knew the instant you walked into a club (if you were an out of towner) that all eyes were on you, and this started all the fighting (well up north anyway)

As the years have gone on I’ve watched the scene become more and more commercial, something that the Government had originally tried to stop by banning “illegal Raves” and party’s out in the sticks. The Government also described the scene as a phase, that “the younger generation will grow out of” now some 15 years or so later it’s stronger than ever.

I don’t think it’s a question of getting bored of going out, I think you need to adapt to your changing life style. There have been numerous times over the past few years where I’ve either got piss bored of things and wanted to give up going out, but now I’m earning more money than back then (a hell of a lot more) I can pretty much decide where to go and experience new clubs etc. and meet new people

After all, without friends you can t go out on your own, so it might be that you need to change the people you are going out with, or find a new set of friends or a Boyf/Girlf, to share you life

notworthy.gif well said that man

i had a huge period of about 2 years where i fell out off the clubbing thing (for awful reasons) then i got back in for a short time then settled into towny life with a girly for a couple of years.... the relationship ended and now im back out as often as i can... these things do go in phases... you can always have too much of a good thing and if you cane something it always takes the shine off...

i think you just need a break from it Soph and then come back to it when its not just a reminder of things that have pissed you off recently..

itll all come good in the end (settling down and being sensible aint all its cracked up to be!!!) You never know you might meet a bloke who's never been to a decent club in his life and you might be able to introduce him to it!!!

ps..James...GOA??? evil dirty place thats regionally advertised as the place to go if you wanna see a white womans tits undecided.gif

James and Mod...Thailand is amazing, everyone else if you haven't been then you have to go, it's the dogs dangleys!

Going back to the topic of discussion, I too agree Sophie...but then again it's not like we are going to be doing this for the rest of our lives. When your feeling like it's just not gripping you as much as what it did before then I agree with Lisa, leave it alone for a while and if you do feel the need to venture out there again, then you will find it a whole different experience...and if you don't then you know those days are over and there will be plenty more other exciting things around the corner.
