ne nu nrg tune with a sware word in usually sells well

just listened to it m8 - and if i'm honnest i dont like it. the tune was a bit predictable and the vocals were cheesy as fuk (for those who dont have a fast net connection it was from 'candy girls - short dick man')

 

of course - this is all a preference thing, but as my nu nrg tastes go by, i found it all a bit too gimmicy and lacked the harder, raw kick to it that i like in my harder edged music

As for the gimmicky thing...well, I always tend to do a lot of complex stuff with the Hard Trance stuff I do..so Iguess it sort off rubbs off...

ur scream track was deffo more to my likeing tho m8 - had a listen to it earlyer and was quite impressed (altho it was played more as background noice so i didnt get chance to analise it, but it was a pleasntly crisp and hard background noice if i remember rightly)

from sum1 thats only starting out in production so i cant notice the diff between a well produced and badly produced tune, i cant understand this whole (recent?) facination with makeing tunes more and more technically good

 

surely the most important thing is that people can dance to it and its enjoyable to listen to so whats it matter if the production isnt up to maddox's standards!?

 

does ne1 else rememebr the 'good ol days" when music was badly produced but had much more creativety and style?!

nah mate, all it means is that the mixdown and mastering isn't that good. So, even though it wouldn't really bother u when ur just listening to it, it could soun terrible when it's played in clubs i.e. it can be bass heavy and muddy etc..

Agreed. Production isn't just a "technicality". It's about how well "balanced" the track is, whether each sound comes across well without swamping the mix, and whether it sounds crisp, punchy and rhythmic at high volume!

 

It's always a shame when a tune has some great ideas in it, but the artist doesn't quite pull it off because the production is sloppy.
