Disagree .... Eg. Porsche Boxster S only has 260bhp and is a convertible. It does have though, rear wheel drive, 6 pots and is 3.2L. It also has probably one of the most sorted chassis on the road.

If I was to buy another (yes I once owned a Boxter, 2.5) I'd probably gauge buying on Horsepower, something like a Skyline, Corrado V6, Supra (Twin Turbo) RX7

 

I have to agree, who the [censored] would actually buy a Yellow Lamborghini Murcilago ??? (or however its spelt), I'd just settle to be given one!!

 

Some road cars are faster than some sports cars, take for example the mods you can do to a Toyota supra (these can be tuned to well over 1000BHP) and Skyline's (some of which are faster than Porches, TVR's, Merc's, BMW's etc)

 

RX7 (The Car Vin Diesel drives in Fast & Furious 1) is only a 1.3 twin rotary turbo, which produces well over 250BHP as standard (not bad for a 1.3!!!!) these also come in 2.6 aswell, but you cant modify the turbo on these

 

My Bros 95 Corrado V6 (Auto) is tuned to well over 315BHP, which eats most cars round our way and even my old Boxter!

 

So it's not necessarily a sports car that has awesome performance, buy the right car and you can leave one standing (Granted tuning, NOS etc isn't cheap,) but why drive something as a status symbol?
