I've managed to get a virus on my computer through kazaa, and it's affecting all the .exe files on the computer. And sa i never got hold of any anti virus software it's been running riot through my computer. I've since installed Norton Antivirus but it's too little too late it seems. It's found and repaired a lot of the files but not all

 

So now unless i can find enough CD's to back everything up, i'm gonna lose everything bar a few Films and about half my MP3's

 

this includes production software, 3D software, audio software, all my samples (would take ages to build up this sample collection again) all my own tunes and bits of tunes i've started, all my 3D work, pictures, mixes, albums, a few movies and TV episodes.

what a c*nt m8 u cant clean anything? (remove the vir?)

 

for selfish purposes, do u know which file u got the vir through?

i honestly couldn't tell u mate, all i know is it was thru kazaa. And i'm now frantically looking round for blank CD's

 

can see me just backing things up which i can't get from anywhere else then just writing down the rest of what i have and just downloading it, just not from kazaa

How dare you sleep around without protection and asume that you would never catch what 80% of that community deals with every damn day. What... you expected your partner to take precations??? tisk tisk tisk.

lol, yeah a bit of protection wouldn't have gone a miss, u never can tell whats goin about these days. But like many people it was just a spur of the moment thing and i just didn't think about it at the time and thought it'd never happen to me but here i am all [censored] up by it

 

cheers for the offer of CD's but what i'm gonna do is use the re-writeable ones i have to transfer things to my sisters computer for the time being, then remove them after i've formatted my computer and re-installed XP etc. Am defo gonna make sure i install Norton Antivirus as the first thing i re-install

that [censored] sucks. try to look on the bright side - learn from the experience, install some anti-virus software and back stuff up and it will never happen again.

as if things couldn't get any worse it has now corrupted the exe file for Nero which i now can't use. I'm currently trying to un-install it and re-install and see if that'll work, but i'm not gonna hold my breath
