Had a reasonable time at Global once I had got over sloshing around in mud, and wondering why I had paid £50 for the privilege. But after the event, when we'd spent about 1/2 hour just to find my car, we found the doors unlocked and the stuff in the boot was thrown all over the place. To be honest, in the state I was in at the time, I didn't even notice, until Amelia said couldn't find her phone and wallet, and then I looked and my wallet was missing too. I immediately jumped to the conclusion that I must have forgotten to lock the car (cos it wouldn't have been the first time!) but later I saw that my driver lock had been forced and panel slightly dented with it.

 

Bastards! Really put a damper on an already quite damp event.

Well I need to get my car fixed... [censored] know's how much that will cost. Millie needs to get a new phone/railcard/driving licence etc, and I'm hoping they didn't manage to spend any money on my cards - possible 18k to spend on that lot!

do you think it will be worth claiming on the insurance

 

i claimed £700 on mine. paying a £200 excess, gave me £500 on contents (700-200), and covered £50 for the door repair.

 

provide as many details about the contents as poss - receipts if at all possible, if not available give manufacturers, model numbers and cost when you bought the items (that were stolen). you'll also need a crime ref number.

 

your next years insurance might go from £600 to £1,000 (made those numbers up, i did).

 

decide whether it's worth claiming or not (also assuming if ur fully comp or not)

 

cancel all your cards asap

 

then take some [censored] drugs cos if the police can't deal with car breakins they've got [censored] all chance of ruining our fun

Don't think it's really worth complicating things with a claim. I've got a ref number and I did cancel my cards, in the tired confused state I was in.

 

Sadly I think the police have got more chance of spoiling our fun than dealing with these matters
