I've recently bought a Vestax pcv275 mixer and am a bit puzzled with it.

I've got a pair of 1210MK5G's linked up to it, Cerwin-Vega 15's powered by a huge NAD amp.

Now the problem i've got is that on my old shite Gemini Mixer i only needed to use the master and gain volumes on a fairly low setting to get a decent volume. With this Vestax i've got everything on full chat to get a decent output to the amp. Also the master for the headphones is on full and i can only just hear the sound through them. Have i got a duff mixer or is there something i dont know about setting it up? confused.gif

u made sure ya decks are plugged into thr PHONO inputs on mixer??

I had the same trouble when i got my DJM600 - i couldn't get alot of volume out of it either. All i did was mess about with all of the EQ's, the gain level, and all of the channel volumes on the mixer, whist twiddling the volume knob on my amp until i found a decent level. If the output on from the mixer and the headphones are both low, i'd say that it was probably the gain levels that need to be ramped up a bit. Give it a go thumbs.gif

I don't know about the vestax, but the djm-600 has got a gain screw on the back by the master output connector, and that affects how loud the master volume is. Maybe the vestax has something similar?

Ive got a 275 (fookin nice mixer btw). There's nothing out of the ordinary that you need to do. Make sure uv'e got it connected to phono inputs and youv'e got teh grounds connected (there is one for each deck).

You might have a duff mixer, but I doubt it. Get a mate to have a look at it if ya can't sort it out. Or just play around until u get it sorted shrug.gif
